Chernivtsi businessman Ilya Pavlyuk, whom journalists called the “shadow curator” of a group of Servant of the People deputies, was involved in a car accident in the Vinnytsia region and left the scene. He was subsequently detained by law enforcement, and his alcohol test showed a blood alcohol level of 2.46 ppm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing its own sources.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred on August 15 around 6:00 PM and involved three vehicles. According to journalists, a Mercedes Brabus arrived after the collision, and Pavlyuk fled the scene in it, despite police orders to remain on the scene.<\/p>\n

Vinnytsia Oblast police reported that, according to preliminary reports, the Ford driver crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Lexus. The Lexus then, driven by inertia, struck a Volkswagen Passat.<\/p>\n

The Lexus driver left the scene of the accident in another vehicle. He was later stopped by patrol officers at a roadblock. His confession revealed a blood alcohol level of 2.46 ppm for the Lexus driver and 1.6 ppm for the Ford driver. The Volkswagen Passat driver was sober.<\/p>\n

All three vehicles were taken to an impound lot. Law enforcement officials have opened a criminal investigation into the accident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2013 violation of traffic safety regulations by a driver under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n
