In Bydgoszcz, Poland, on August 14, two Ukrainian minors were attacked for speaking Ukrainian to each other. The children were subjected to threats, physical violence, and severe emotional distress, and police are searching for the attackers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Consulate General of Ukraine in Gdansk.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred in a park near the Bydgoszcz train station. A 14-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother were injured. According to the consulate, the attack was carried out by a man and a woman with a small dog. They allegedly used obscene language and threatened the children because of national intolerance.<\/p>\n

Also, according to diplomats, the attackers used physical violence: they twisted the child’s arm, broke a toy drone, and threw its fragments at the boy, causing scratches.<\/p>\n

The Consulate General of Ukraine in Gdansk reported that it is monitoring the situation and is in contact with the children’s mother. She was provided with consular and legal assistance. A report of the attack was filed with the police. Law enforcement officers are currently searching for the suspects.<\/p>\n

According to the consulate, the children’s physical health is currently not in danger, but they have experienced severe emotional stress. Diplomats urged possible witnesses to the incident or people with information about the attackers to contact the Polish police.<\/p>\n

The consulate also stated that the issue of countering intolerance and the safety of Ukrainians will be discussed during the upcoming meeting with the leadership of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, city mayors, and police chiefs.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Center for Countering Disinformation announced a coordinated campaign on Polish social networks aimed at Ukrainians.<\/a> TikTok is spreading false messages about alleged crimes committed by Ukrainians, non-payment for fuel, and possible attacks on Poland.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind you that the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wroclaw appealed to Polish law enforcement officers to promptly and comprehensively investigate the attack on a Ukrainian couple<\/a> that occurred in Wroclaw.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that a Ukrainian girl and her boyfriend were brutally beaten<\/a> in a store<\/a> in Poland. According to the victim’s mother, the reason for the attack was her Ukrainian accent. Both were injured and hospitalized.<\/p>\n
