The funds will be transferred through UNESCO after part of the complex was damaged by a Russian strike.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/andrii_sybiha\/status\/2088947801090642024\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was announced by<\/a> the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga.<\/p>\n<p> The funding will be used to protect and restore the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra as a World Heritage Site. Sibiga stressed that Switzerland&#8217;s assistance is of particular importance on the eve of the 975th anniversary of the Lavra. According to him, the support of partners will help preserve the monument for future generations.<\/p>\n<p> On the night of June 15, a Russian strike drone <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/chym-rosiiany-byly-po-kyievo-pecherskiy-lavri-ihnat-ta-sbu-daly-vidpovid\/\">hit<\/a> the altar of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. The impact caused a massive fire.<\/p>\n<p> The fire destroyed about 80% of the roof and wooden structures of the dome. The domes, walls and windows of the cathedral were also damaged.
