Russian authorities plan to relax requirements for aviation fuel to increase its production. In particular, it is proposed to raise the permissible freezing temperature from -60 to -50 \u00b0C.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Russian Federation wants to allow the use of Russian anti-wear additives and heavier oil, increase the share of synthetic components, and also allow small and medium-sized businesses to participate in production.<\/p>\n

According to Russian authorities, such changes could provide an additional production of up to 1.8 million tons of aviation fuel per year.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the SZRU warns that increasing the permissible freezing temperature may create additional risks for flight safety. At high altitudes, the air temperature can drop below -50 \u00b0C, which can cause the fuel to crystallize. The particles formed can interfere with the operation of the fuel system and disrupt the fuel supply to the engine.<\/p>\n

There are particular risks associated with the use of new additives and components that will require additional testing. Against the backdrop of sanctions and problems with access to spare parts, this could also complicate the maintenance of Russian aircraft.<\/p>\n

The SZRU recalled that Russia previously allowed the production of Euro-2 standard gasoline, which it abandoned back in 2013.<\/p>\n

According to intelligence, after that, Russian service stations began to more often record problems with the fuel systems of Chinese cars Haval, Chery, Geely, Changan, Exeed, Omoda, and Jetour, designed for Euro-5 gasoline. At some stations, the number of such calls, according to the SZRU, increased from 1\u20132 to 7\u201310 per week.<\/p>\n

The department said that Moscow is trying to cut costs now, but the consequences of this may fall on the population in the form of more expensive repairs, maintenance and increased risks. According to the SZRU, they now want to apply a similar approach to aviation.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the fuel situation in Russia has worsened again: in at least 12 regions, drivers complained about long lines at gas stations, the closure of some gas stations, and a shortage of popular brands of gasoline.<\/a><\/p>\n
