Greece is ready to consider transferring missiles for the S-300 systems to Ukraine, but only if it receives a full replacement. Athens fears weakening its own air defenses amid tense relations with Turkey.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukraine and its partners are in talks with Greece about a possible supply of missiles for the S-300. Kyiv is seeking additional ammunition for air defense due to a shortage of missiles for the Patriot systems.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Athens does not agree to transfer missiles without guarantees of a full replacement. In particular, Greece would like to receive American Patriot complexes, but this option currently seems unlikely.<\/p>\n

One reason for this position is the security situation in the region. Greece sees air defense systems as an important element of deterrence against Turkey, so it does not want to reduce its own defense capabilities.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes, other circumstances may also influence Athens’ decision. Among them, the publication cites the deterioration of relations between Ukraine and Greece after the discovery of a Ukrainian naval drone near the island of Lefkada.<\/p>\n

In addition, Greece’s position may be influenced by its relations with Russia. Moscow opposes the transfer of Soviet-made systems to Ukraine and, according to the publication, has warned Athens against such a move.<\/p>\n
