On the night of August 20, during Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine, one of the drones entered Romanian airspace and later crashed in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania.<\/p>\n

The Romanian military has detected a group of air targets near the Ukrainian border, north of Tulcea County, using radar. Two Spanish Air Force F-18 fighter jets and a Romanian IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter were scrambled to monitor the situation.<\/p>\n

One of the drones later crossed the Romanian border. It entered the country’s airspace approximately 13 km east of the city of Galati.<\/p>\n

A few minutes later, the drone crashed and caught fire in a deserted area about 4 km northeast of the village of Grindu in Tulcea County.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary data, no one was injured as a result of the drone crash, and no material damage was recorded. A military search team has been sent to the scene.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that on the night of August 20, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv, using strike drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.<\/a> The attack killed at least eight people and injured 33 others. The Sviatoshynskyi, Solomyanskyi, and Darnytskyi districts of the capital suffered the most damage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
