In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the case of the chief of the food service of one of the units of the Airborne Assault Forces was referred to court. According to the investigation, the major illegally enriched himself by 26.2 million hryvnias, substituted food for the military, and evaded service during martial law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Prosecutor General’s Office.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, in June 2025, the officer received a $10,000 bribe from a subordinate for assisting in the substitution of food products for servicemen. In particular, the documents indicated some products, but in fact others were supplied.<\/p>\n

Investigators also claim that in 2024-2025, the major was absent from duty for a total of 83 days without good reason. After trips abroad, he reported to the command about returning to the unit, although in fact he was still outside Ukraine. During this time, according to the prosecutor’s office, he unjustifiably received more than 549 thousand hryvnias in cash benefits and additional payments.<\/p>\n

A separate episode concerns illicit enrichment. Law enforcement officers established that during 2023-2025, the officer purchased property worth 26.2 million hryvnias, the legal origin of which he could not confirm.<\/p>\n

Among the assets involved in the case are a BMW X6 M, two apartments in Dnipro, a parking space, a rental apartment in Bali, as well as expensive branded clothing and accessories. In addition, according to the investigation, more than 4 million hryvnias were spent on trips to the USA, Japan, the UAE, Peru, Colombia, Argentina and other countries.<\/p>\n

During the searches, more than 51 thousand dollars, 2.1 thousand euros, and more than 200 thousand hryvnias in cash, real estate and transport documents, as well as a collection of branded clothing and accessories worth about 8 million hryvnias were seized from the suspect.<\/p>\n

The major’s subordinate will also be tried. She is accused of providing an improper benefit to an official.<\/p>\n

The major was detained in February 2026. He is currently in custody. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison. His subordinate faces up to four years in prison.<\/p>\n
