Norway plans to provide 85 billion Norwegian kroner, or about $9.2 billion, in financial support to Ukraine in 2027. The funds will be used to address Ukraine’s military, humanitarian, and financial needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by Reuters<\/a> , citing a statement<\/a> from the Norwegian government.<\/p>\n

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re and leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries arrived in Kyiv on August 23, demonstrating support for Ukraine amid the war with Russia.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian government has said that the amount of aid in 2027 will match the level of 2026. According to St\u00f8re, the support will include military, humanitarian and financial expenditures.<\/p>\n

“Supporting and rebuilding Ukraine is not just aid. It is an investment in Europe’s own security,” said Stora.<\/p>\n

In his speech in Kyiv, the Norwegian Prime Minister emphasized that support for Ukraine is long-term. According to him, Norway will support Ukrainian priorities and continue cooperation after the war is over.<\/p>\n

St\u00f8re also reported that Norway and Ukraine are to sign a declaration on strategic partnership on August 23. The document is to establish a long-term basis for bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine will determine its own needs, and Oslo will try to meet them within the framework of its support. He also noted that Norway is interested in cooperating with Ukraine in the areas of defense, technology, and building a sustainable society.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re called on China to use its influence on the Russian leadership to help end the war against Ukraine<\/a> . According to him, the improvement of relations between Europe and the PRC largely depends on Beijing’s position on Russian aggression.<\/p>\n

Recall that Norway will allocate about 40 million euros in aid to Ukraine.<\/a> The funds will go to restore the power system, develop local generation, batteries, and renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n
