On August 23, Russia carried out two drone strikes on a Mondel\u0113z International plant in Ukraine\u2019s Sumy region, damaging the facility and injuring several employees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

This was announced by<\/a> the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga.<\/p>\n

According to him, Russian drones twice attacked a civilian facility owned by the American multinational corporation Mondel\u0113z International.<\/p>\n

Sibiga stated that Russia’s systematic attacks on American business interests in Ukraine pose a threat not only to Ukraine but also to US economic interests in Europe.<\/p>\n

“These systematic and targeted Russian attacks on American business interests in Ukraine demonstrate that Russian aggression is not only a threat to Ukraine but also a direct blow to American economic interests in Europe,” Sibiga wrote.<\/p>\n

The minister emphasized that Ukraine advocates increased military support, particularly strengthening air defenses, as well as increased sanctions pressure on Russia.<\/p>\n

“Our strategy to counter these threats remains clear: to strengthen military support for Ukraine, in particular by strengthening its air defense potential, and to exert maximum pressure on Moscow to end this war,” Sybiga noted.<\/p>\n

The Mondel\u0113z plant in the Sumy region was already under Russian attack in February 2026.<\/p>\n

Mondel\u0113z International is an American multinational snack, confectionery, and food company. Its brands include Oreo, Milka, Cadbury, Toblerone, Belvita, and Barny.<\/p>\n

Recall that in late July, during a nighttime missile attack on Kyiv,\u00a0a Russian ballistic missile destroyed the Terminal Autonomy drone manufacturing plant, owned by an American company<\/a>. The plant produced high-precision long-range drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.<\/p>\n
