He began his mission in Kyiv by attending Ukraine\u2019s National Prayer Breakfast.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/usembkyiv\/1623\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was reported by<\/a> the US Embassy in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Houston noted that it was an honor to begin his diplomatic mission in Ukraine at an event dedicated to religious freedom and the 35th anniversary of Ukraine&#8217;s independence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year, as we celebrate 250 years of independence for the United States, it is an honor for me to begin my work in Kyiv by participating in the National Prayer Breakfast of Ukraine, dedicated to religious freedom and timed to the 35th anniversary of Ukraine&#8217;s independence,&#8221; Houston said.<\/p>\n<p>The American diplomat also said that he expects to work to strengthen freedom and peace during his work in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I look forward to the opportunity to work to advance freedom and peace as the U.S. Charg\u00e9 d&#8217;Affaires ad interim at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv,&#8221; said Houston.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Houston is a senior career diplomat with the rank of Minister Counselor.
