The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two important facilities of the Russian fuel and energy infrastructure \u2014 the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory and gas separation facilities at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

On the night of August 25, Ukrainian units struck the facilities of the Afipsky refinery. A fire has been confirmed on the territory of the enterprise. The extent of the damage is currently being determined.<\/p>\n

The Afipsky Refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Krasnodar Territory. Its design capacity is 6.25 million tons of oil per year. The plant produces, among other things, diesel fuel and gasoline components and works for the needs of the Russian occupation army.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian military also confirmed the destruction of two U-272 gas separation units at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant. The attack on this facility took place on the night of August 24.<\/p>\n

Astrakhan GPP is part of the Gazprom system and is one of the key enterprises in Russia’s gas processing industry. It can process up to 12 billion cubic meters of gas and about 7.3 million tons of gas condensate per year.<\/p>\n

The enterprise produces natural gas, gas condensate, gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, liquefied hydrocarbon gases and technical sulfur. According to the General Staff, the plant’s products are used to supply Russian troops, and sulfur can be used in the production of explosives.<\/p>\n

The General Staff emphasized that work to reduce Russia’s military and economic potential continues.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of August 25, two regions of Russia were hit at once – Rostov Oblast and Krasnodar Krai<\/a> . In Novoshakhtinsk, there were reports of a possible attack on the refinery, and a fire broke out in the area of the Afipsky oil refinery after explosions.<\/p>\n
