Russia has announced the creation of a textbook on the history of Ukraine, which will allegedly be intended for schoolchildren in the territory controlled by Ukraine. It plans to include Russian propaganda theses about the “unity of peoples” and “Ukrainian neo-Nazism.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

The development of the textbook was announced by the scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society, Mikhail Myagkov.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, the book is planned to be created specifically for Ukrainian schoolchildren who live in the territories controlled by Kyiv.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that such textbooks have nothing to do with historical science. Russian propaganda uses them to deny Ukrainian subjectivity and try to justify the war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, Russia has no real opportunities to distribute such textbooks in the territory controlled by Ukraine. The CPD believes that the statement is primarily aimed at a Russian audience and is intended to create the appearance of active “ideological work.”<\/p>\n

The Center also noted that plans to create such a textbook indicate Russia’s further intentions to impose its own ideology on Ukrainians and continue the occupation of Ukrainian territories.<\/p>\n
