Russia has begun recruiting Indonesian citizens into its war against Ukraine. Ukrainian intelligence has obtained documents on at least eight Indonesians who were recruited into the Russian army.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to intelligence, the Russians are operating according to a familiar pattern. Foreigners are promised high salaries, social guarantees, Russian citizenship, and work far from the front lines. However, after signing a contract, they may find themselves directly on the front lines.<\/p>\n

Previously, Russia recruited citizens of Nepal, Cuba, Kenya, and India in this way. Some of them were sent to the front without proper training, and some of the recruited foreigners died in the first weeks.<\/p>\n

The SZRU explains that with the help of foreigners, Russia is trying to replenish its army amid a decrease in the number of people willing to sign contracts within the country.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Kremlin is also using foreigners for propaganda, trying to create the impression that the Russian war against Ukraine is supposedly supported in various countries around the world.<\/p>\n

Earlier, political expert Taras Zagorodny stated that against the backdrop of Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries and the largest marketplace Wildberries, social tension is increasing and protest sentiments are forming within the Russian Federation. These processes are becoming especially noticeable on the eve of the Duma elections<\/a> , which are scheduled for the fall.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Russian military-political leadership is working on the possibility of conducting a new wave of mobilization in 2026-2027<\/a> . According to Ukrainian intelligence, Moscow may plan to call up about 300 thousand people in 2026 and another 300 thousand in 2027.<\/p>\n
