More than 3,000 people are missing after massive flash floods rocked Nepal and China. As of August 30, at least 750 people have been confirmed dead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reuters<\/a> and BBC<\/a> report this.<\/p>\n

According to Nepal’s National Disaster Management Authority, the death toll in the country has risen to 734. Another 2,498 people are still missing, while 7,514 have been rescued.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday evening, 16 people have been confirmed dead in China, with another 546 still missing.<\/p>\n

This brings the total death toll in the two countries to at least 750, with more than 3,000 missing.<\/p>\n

The Red Cross estimates that more than 90,000 people could have been affected by the natural disaster.<\/p>\n

It is known that 56 Ukrainian citizens are missing. These include two tourist groups\u201447 Ukrainians and seven Ukrainians\u2014as well as one Ukrainian citizen who was part of a foreign tourist group.<\/p>\n

There have been no reports of any injured or killed Ukrainians yet.<\/p>\n

Massive flash floods in Nepal and neighboring Tibet began on August 26. A massive rescue operation involving helicopters and drones is ongoing in the region.<\/p>\n

Rescuers are searching for missing people, including more than 500 tourists and pilgrims from 26 countries who were heading to Mount Kailash.<\/p>\n

Search and rescue efforts were suspended several times due to inclement weather and concerns about further flooding. Specifically, a landslide caused by a glacier collapse formed a lake on the Nepal-China border, and its rupture could trigger further major flooding.<\/p>\n

The search is hampered by significant damage to infrastructure and the lack of communication in the affected areas.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, 53 Ukrainian citizens are missing in Nepal following massive flooding on the Tibetan border<\/a> . Among them are a group of 46 Ukrainian tourists with whom contact was lost on the morning of August 26. There are currently no confirmed reports of Ukrainian casualties or injuries.<\/p>\n

As reported later, flash floods in China and Nepal have caused massive human losses. In total, more than 1,300 people are missing, and the confirmed death toll has already exceeded 160.<\/a><\/p>\n
