The enemy may be using Belarusian mobile phone networks for navigation.

This was stated by the non-staff adviser to the President of Ukraine on the development of technological areas of defense, Sergei Beskrestnov, known by the call sign “Flash.”

According to the expert’s observations, hundreds of jet drones do not fly directly to the capital, but rather hover near the Belarusian border for as long as possible.

Beskrestnov suggested that the reason for this trajectory could be the drones’ use of Belarusian civilian mobile communications infrastructure.

“I stopped at the fact that LTE modems on Shahed, with this flight route, work with Belarusian mobile base stations,” Flash noted.

At the same time, he considers the version about direct control of drones through Belarusian MESH points unlikely.

“The communication points operate much further than the border,” the expert explained.

Thus, according to his assessment, Russian Shahed jets may intentionally route near Belarus in order to exploit the coverage of local mobile operators to operate the LTE modems installed on them.

Flash previously reported that Russia has significantly increased its use of Shahed jets for attacks on Ukraine.

According to his data, while Ukraine was attacked by approximately 1,500 such drones in July, their number exceeded 2,500 in August. The expert also claims that Russian jet-powered drones are launched against Ukraine almost immediately after production.

Also follow “Pryamy” on Facebook , X , Telegram and Instagram.

During attacks on Kyiv, Russian Shahed-class jet drones often follow a similar route – along the border with Belarus.
