Cameras at the plant captured an unknown person wearing a balaclava, which is why law enforcement officers do not rule out the possibility of arson.

This is reported by Onet .

It is noted that the fire broke out at about 00:23. According to the State Fire Service, its elimination lasted about 2 hours. The fire broke out in a facility near a warehouse where electronic components were stored. The district police department clarified that the fire occurred in a workshop where components for unmanned systems are produced.

Shortly after the fire started, the operator of the external security company notified the police that an intrusion sensor had been triggered. CCTV cameras captured an unknown person wearing a balaclava who could have entered the company’s territory through the fence.

A backpack and a sweater were also found near the factory. Police officers, a dog handler with a service dog, and a drone with a thermal imager were sent to the scene. The Polish Internal Security Agency and the Military Counterintelligence Service were involved in the investigation. Law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the fire and do not rule out the possibility of arson.

“We take the matter extremely seriously. We do not downplay it,” said Jacek Dobrzynski, a spokesman for the coordinator of the Polish secret services.

He also called for not succumbing to attempts at disinformation and noted that employees of the Internal Security Agency are checking whether it is possible to speak of an act of sabotage.

According to police, the company was not operating at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The fire was extinguished, the premises were de-energized, and the air was ventilated.

WB Electronics is part of WB Group , the largest private defense group in Poland. The company develops and manufactures unmanned systems, as well as components and control systems for them.

The WB Electronics enterprise in Skarzysko-Kamenna is one of the company’s production sites. It manufactures composite structures and control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as components for unmanned systems. Among the main unmanned systems of WB Group are the FlyEye reconnaissance complex, the FT-5 tactical platform, as well as the Warmate and Gladius systems.

FlyEye is designed for reconnaissance and surveillance. The system is used by the Polish and Ukrainian militaries.

Warmate is a roaming unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). In 2026, Poland signed a contract with WB Group to supply over 400 Warmate systems.

The FT-5 is a tactical unmanned platform used for reconnaissance missions.

Gladius is a complex unmanned system that combines reconnaissance and strike capabilities. In 2026, Poland signed a contract for the supply of 12 Gladius battery packs.

WB Group has also signed contracts to supply the Polish military with nearly 200 FlyEye reconnaissance systems and over 400 Warmate systems in 2026. Part of the work under these contracts will be performed by employees in Skarzysko-Kamenna.

The company is important for Ukraine, as WB Group produces unmanned systems used by the Ukrainian military. In particular, the Ukrainian army uses the FlyEye reconnaissance complexes and the Warmate barrage systems. FlyEye is used for reconnaissance and surveillance, and Warmate is used to destroy targets.

In addition to supplying ready-made systems, WB Group is also expanding production cooperation with Ukraine: the company has launched FlyEye production in Ukraine, which allows increasing the availability of these unmanned systems for the Ukrainian defense forces.

Recall that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Berlin is preparing a response to the alleged drone attack near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig airport . According to him, Germany’s decision will be coordinated with the European Union and NATO partners.

As is known, German intelligence agencies have linked the incident with a drone packed with explosives, which was discovered at the Leipzig/Halle airport, to Russia. At the same time, the German government has not yet officially accused Moscow, as the investigation is still ongoing. According to American intelligence, the design of the drone and the explosives had features characteristic of devices of the Russian GRU.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

In Poland, a fire broke out at the WB Electronics plant in Skarzysko-Kamenna, which produces drone components for the Polish and Ukrainian armies, on the night of August 31.
