In the occupied territories, Russians have begun mass visits to local residents’ homes, ostensibly in preparation for the September “elections” to the State Duma. In reality, this is how the occupiers can check people, look for empty housing, and prepare future falsifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

House-to-house visits are being conducted in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions. Agitators and representatives of so-called “election commissions” visit people, allegedly telling them about the upcoming vote.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The CPD explained that the real purpose of such visits may be completely different. The Russians are checking who currently lives in houses and apartments, and may also identify empty housing in order to later appropriate it.<\/p>\n

The occupiers are particularly interested in people who have not yet received Russian passports and are trying to avoid any cooperation with the occupation authorities.<\/p>\n

The by-elections could also be part of preparations to falsify the results of the “elections.” Russians are already collecting applications for so-called home voting and early voting.<\/p>\n

The CPD believes that this will allow the occupiers to draw the turnout the Kremlin needs in the “elections.” <\/p>\n
