Kyiv is preparing new rules for the city’s operations during airstrikes. Among the proposals are not to stop all establishments during drone attacks, lift restrictions on bridge traffic, and allow the green line of the metro to transport passengers between banks even during an airstrike.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by People’s Deputy Olga Vasylevska-Smaglyuk and Kyiv Mayor<\/a> Vitaliy Klitschko.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Vasilevska-Smaglyuk, the Cabinet of Ministers is considering the possibility of introducing two levels of air alert – “yellow” and “red”.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It is proposed to declare a “yellow” alert during drone attacks. In this case, the management of stores, establishments, and institutions will be able to independently decide whether to continue work or temporarily suspend it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A “red” alert will be issued in the event of a missile threat. Then all establishments must cease operations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The authorities are also considering limiting taxi fares during emergencies and not blocking traffic on bridges.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, Klitschko reported that the Kyiv Defense Council has already appealed to the government with a proposal to change security protocols for the capital.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In particular, the city wants to allow the Syretsko-Pechersk metro line to operate without restrictions during air raids. This also includes train traffic across the Southern Bridge between the left and right banks.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Kyiv also wants to lift restrictions on vehicle traffic on bridges during emergencies. The defense forces and relevant units of the Kyiv City State Administration should prepare their proposals on how this can be done safely.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Another proposal concerns the curfew. Kyiv wants to allow transit freight traffic during this time, as well as allow people to get home from train stations if trains or buses arrive late.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Separately, the city is preparing a new algorithm for the operation of businesses, medical and educational institutions, and municipal institutions during prolonged alarms.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Vasilevska-Smaglyuk, there is no final decision on the new rules yet. The government may decide on them in the coming days.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In addition, MP Oleksandr Horbenko stated that Kyiv and the Kyiv region could receive the status of frontline territories as early as September. According to him, the government is working on a corresponding resolution.<\/p>\n
