{"id":1434533,"date":"2026-09-01T16:07:35","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T13:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/austerity-for-defense-the-government-seeks-70-billion-hryvnias\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T16:08:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T13:08:10","slug":"austerity-for-defense-the-government-seeks-70-billion-hryvnias","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/en\/austerity-for-defense-the-government-seeks-70-billion-hryvnias\/","title":{"rendered":"Austerity for Defense: The Government Seeks 70 Billion Hryvnias"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Ukrainian government is introducing a strict austerity regime for all budget funds not directly related to security and defense needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the review and optimization of expenses, it has already been possible to identify 70 billion hryvnias in savings, which will be fully redirected to support the Ukrainian army.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky announced this while speaking in the Verkhovna Rada.<\/p>\n<p>Despite drastic spending cuts, the state will maintain the social sector intact, the prime minister noted. According to Koretsky, all key obligations remain in effect, so pension and wage payments are not at risk.
