Moldovan special services are increasingly recording attempts to recruit citizens of the country for sabotage abroad. These are mainly tasks directed against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Newsmaker with reference to the head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Alexandra Mustace.<\/p>\n

He noted that the country’s special services are recording not only an increase in the number of recruitment attempts, but also cases where Moldovans agree to carry out the proposed tasks.<\/p>\n

Mustace emphasized that it all starts with simple tasks via Telegram. People can be offered 20, 50, 100 euros or more, depending on the task. At first, it might be a request to take a picture of a certain place or check what is happening there. If a person agrees and continues to cooperate, the reward increases, and the tasks become more difficult.<\/p>\n

“There is such a phenomenon as “low-value agents”. People are found on Telegram, offered 20, 50, 100 euros or more – depending on the task. Often it can be “go there, take a picture”, “go to another place, take a picture”, “see what’s there”. If they see that the person is “involved” – both the amount and the complexity of the tasks increase,” he explained.<\/p>\n

According to Mustace, in the future, the person may be tasked with more serious actions – for example, picking up a bag and leaving it under a car.<\/p>\n

“It could then come to ‘go there, take the bag and put it under the car’, or something like that. We are currently working on this problem together with our colleagues from Ukraine – because many actions are aimed precisely at that,” Mustiatse added.<\/p>\n

He also reported that the Moldovan police, together with Ukrainian law enforcement officers, have already conducted several successful counter-operations. Law enforcement officers conducted separate operations in Moldova, thanks to which they managed to thwart malicious plans.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Mustace noted that orders for similar actions directly on the territory of Moldova have not yet been recorded.<\/p>\n

“But this means that we have to prepare – and we are already in the process of intensive preparation,” the head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It was previously reported that Russian special services are preparing specific sabotage in Denmark, in particular against defense-industrial complex enterprises related to military assistance to Ukraine.<\/a> Danish counterintelligence has already detected attempts by Russians to involve ordinary citizens in this through social networks.<\/p>\n
