Vladimir Putin said that it is primarily Ukraine and Russia that should negotiate an end to the war. At the same time, the Russian leader said that other countries can help the sides achieve peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kremlin leader stated this during a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.<\/p>\n

“First of all, Russia and Ukraine should agree among themselves (on ending the war – ed.). And other countries are ready to support and help. And not only the USA… China, for example, constantly draws attention to this and helps ensure that the problem is resolved, and, first of all, peacefully,” he said.<\/p>\n

According to Putin, it is the countries directly involved in the war that should decide how to end it.<\/p>\n

“But still, first and foremost, this problem should be solved by the countries involved in the conflict: Russia and Ukraine. This is the right approach. But we are grateful to everyone who is trying to make their contribution to resolving this issue. Is there a chance? Yes, in my opinion, there is,” the Russian leader said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Putin again stated that threats to make Russian airspace unsafe could be considered “state terrorism.” He claims that such statements make it difficult to hold negotiations.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the day before, Putin also declared Russia’s readiness for the negotiation process, but at the same time made a number of statements indicating that Moscow maintained a tough position on Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia is currently on pause, but there are plans to resume it. A new meeting of the parties may take place as early as September.<\/a><\/p>\n
