Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has ordered a three-day ceasefire in Kyiv starting at midnight. The Kremlin said the decision was related to the preparation and holding of meetings between US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the Ukrainian capital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.<\/p>\n

“The suspension of strikes on Kyiv is related to the preparation and holding of contacts there by American negotiators,” Peskov said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Kremlin reported that Putin is scheduled to meet with Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow on September 5. After that, the American representatives are scheduled to travel to Kyiv.<\/p>\n

Peskov also confirmed that Ukraine had offered Russia a ceasefire. According to the head of state’s communications adviser Dmitry Lytvyn, Moscow did not respond to this offer.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, reported that Ukraine had sent a proposal for a ceasefire to the Russian side<\/a> and it had been presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin, but there had been no further reaction from the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

The day before, US President’s special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday, September 5.<\/a> The American envoys are scheduled to hold talks with Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n
