Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused Germany of pushing relations with Moscow toward a \u201creal war\u201d after Berlin blamed Russia for an attempted drone attack at Leipzig\/Halle Airport. Lavrov also claimed that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was effectively moving toward declaring war on Russia, sharply escalating Moscow\u2019s rhetoric against Berlin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media.<\/p>\n

According to Lavrov, the Russian leadership should allegedly draw conclusions from the latest statements and actions of the German authorities, which he presented as signs of Berlin’s preparation for confrontation with Moscow.<\/p>\n

“This is, by and large, the beginning of a real war,” Lavrov said.<\/p>\n

Separately, the Russian Foreign Minister mentioned a reduction in Russia’s diplomatic presence in Germany. He stated that Berlin is allegedly repeating the events that preceded World War II.<\/p>\n

“They kicked out the Consulate General from Bonn… The “Russian House” in Berlin is being closed. I remember that before the start of World War II, the Great Patriotic War, or rather, the Germans also closed their diplomatic missions… They want war again,” the Russian minister said.<\/p>\n

Lavrov also accused Friedrich Merz of allegedly intending to declare war on Russia.<\/p>\n

“He is, in fact, going to declare war on us. And the lessons of history have not been learned at all,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.<\/p>\n

In addition, Lavrov used rhetoric about the alleged spread of “Nazism” in Europe and stated that the Russian leadership would allegedly draw appropriate conclusions.<\/p>\n

“It turned out that these metastases of Nazism are beginning to break through. This is a dangerous phenomenon. It seems to me that the Russian leadership will draw the appropriate conclusions,” Lavrov said.<\/p>\n

The Russian Foreign Minister also stated that some of the current European politicians may soon lose their positions and influence.<\/p>\n

“They will be swept away from this pinnacle of European politics, and the peoples of Europe will make the right choice. When this will happen is another question, but I think we don’t have much longer to wait,” Lavrov added.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Germany\u00a0officially stated that Russia was responsible for the attempted sabotage at Leipzig\/Halle <\/a>airport.\u00a0In early August, a drone with explosives was discovered there near a Ukrainian cargo plane.<\/p>\n

In addition, two disturbing incidents occurred in Germany overnight: an unidentified object exploded at Augsburg’s main train station, injuring two people, and at a substation near Cologne, police suspected deliberate damage to equipment.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, on the morning of September 2, an explosion occurred at the Augsburg Central Station in Germany, injuring two Ukrainian <\/a>citizens\u2014a\u00a017-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy. Later, another suspicious object was found near the station’s main entrance, but it did not explode.<\/p>\n
