US President’s special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner made their first statements in Kyiv after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They emphasized the need not only to end the war but also to create conditions for lasting peace and the restoration of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by “RBK-Ukraine,” \u00a0<\/a>“European Truth,”<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0“24 Channel.”<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Witkoff thanked Zelenskyy for his hospitality and called his visit to Ukraine “wonderful.” According to him, the American side had a meaningful conversation with Ukrainian representatives and plans to stay in Ukraine as long as necessary.<\/p>\n

“We had a very meaningful and important conversation. We are very inspired. We plan to stay here as long as necessary,” said Witkoff.<\/p>\n

Kushner conveyed to Zelenskyy the respect of US President Donald Trump. He noted that Trump understands the complexity of the situation and seeks not only to stop the fighting but also to create conditions for long-term, sustainable peace.<\/p>\n

“This is a problem that really needs to be addressed\u2014not just to stop the current war, but to create the right conditions and arrangements for a long-term and sustainable peace,” Kushner said.<\/p>\n

According to him, Trump wants Ukraine to realize its potential for recovery and development after the war ends. The American president also wants to stop the loss of life, then resume investment and economic cooperation that should contribute to the prosperity of Ukraine and Europe.<\/p>\n

Kushner also thanked partners from Germany and France, as well as the World Bank, for their cooperation.<\/p>\n

“We hope that as a result of this trip we will find a new path to peace,” the US representative said.<\/p>\n

According to him, meetings with Ukrainian representatives are scheduled virtually every day, so the negotiation process should continue.<\/p>\n

“So we are constantly moving forward to achieve peace,” Kushner concluded.<\/p>\n
