The UK is providing Ukraine with \u00a3100 million to boost its air defences ahead of winter. The new package will include Patriot interceptor missiles, large-caliber artillery shells and drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“European Truth” was informed<\/a> about this by the British government.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the aid will be transferred to Ukraine through the PURL mechanism, under which allies purchase American weapons for Ukraine. The delivery of Patriot missiles and other air defense equipment should take place before the beginning of winter.<\/p>\n

The British government stressed that the new package will help Ukraine protect critical infrastructure, civilians, and the Defence Forces from Russian air attacks during the winter.<\/p>\n

British Defense Minister Wes Streeting said that during a visit to Kyiv with the country’s Prime Minister, they were convinced of how important additional support for Ukraine is before winter.<\/p>\n

“Both the Prime Minister and I, during our first visits to Kyiv, clearly understood how important it is to support Ukraine throughout this winter, as Putin prepares to use the winter as a weapon, continuing his barbaric attacks on civilian and energy facilities,” Streeting said.<\/p>\n

According to him, Britain promised to mobilize allies and further increase support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The new aid package was announced following visits by the British Prime Minister and the Secretary of Defense to Kyiv, where they discussed the country’s needs ahead of winter with the President of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
