Ukraine has publicly unveiled the self-propelled launcher of its new Koral surface-to-air missile system for the first time. The system is designed to intercept both aerial and ballistic targets, and the demonstration launched a missile from a launcher mounted on a Czech Tatra truck chassis.<\/strong>

Previously, Ukrainian developers have shown individual elements of the “Coral” and discussed creating their own anti-aircraft missile. The complex is being developed by the Kyiv State Design Bureau “Luch.”<\/p>\n

The main task of “Koral” is to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system and ensure the interception of air and ballistic targets. At the same time, the developers claim that the missile of the complex can also be used to destroy ground and surface radar-contrast targets.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, the modern version of the missile has a mass of about 450 kilograms, of which 36 kilograms are for the warhead. The guidance system combines inertial navigation, radio correction, and an active radar homing head.<\/p>\n

The missile is 4.8 meters long, has a diameter of 230\/300 millimeters, a wingspan of 835 millimeters, and a rudder span of 685 millimeters.<\/p>\n

Work on the Coral began before the full-scale Russian invasion. After 2022, the project continued to develop, and the characteristics of the complex changed significantly.<\/p>\n

At the initial stage, the missile had much more modest parameters: the declared range of destruction was up to 30 kilometers, and the height was up to 10 kilometers. The missile weighed about 300 kilograms, and the warhead was 25 kilograms. The length was 4.33 meters, and the diameter was 230\/260 millimeters.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the developers noted that the characteristics of the “Coral” could vary depending on the customer’s requirements.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified the domestic unmanned aviation complex \u201cDovbush T40.” The drone can cover a distance of over 2,000 km, stay in the air for over a day, and is designed for reconnaissance and high-precision strikes at a considerable distance.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for operation the new OWL-APC \u201cSova-BTR\u201d armored personnel carrier. The Ukrainian-made vehicle has received modern technological solutions and a high level of protection and can be used for a wide range of combat and special missions.<\/a><\/p>\n
