This was told to the publication by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Vysotsky.

“This wave of strikes is the largest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. If in 2022 the enemy attacked mainly the export and agricultural infrastructure, and in subsequent years destroyed the energy sector, then the attacks of August-September 2026 are a systemic attack on the internal life support system of the civilian population,” Vysotsky said.

According to him, Russian troops are deliberately trying to destroy the logistics system that provides Ukrainians with food. The consequences of the strikes are already being felt by shops and shoppers.

The Guardian notes that after damage to food warehouses and logistics chains near several cities, there have been disruptions to the supply of certain goods. At the same time, there is currently no mass buying of products, as there was after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

Another consequence of the attacks could be a rise in prices. According to Vysotsky, damage to warehouse infrastructure could increase the cost of products by about 2.5%. At the same time, business representatives predict a much higher price increase — in some cases up to 15%.

One of the Russian strikes damaged a warehouse near Kyiv used by Bureau of Wine, which operates several retail brands, including the Goodwine chain. The company’s co-founder, Dmitry Krymsky, said that the September 1 attack destroyed about €4 million worth of goods.

He said it’s not just the loss of production that will affect prices. The company will have to rebuild its supply chain to reduce its vulnerability to future Russian attacks.

Among the options being considered by the Bureau of Wine are moving some of its warehouse capacity to Poland, using underground facilities, and distributing inventory across several smaller facilities instead of one large logistics center.

The company predicts that such changes could increase prices by about 5%. The September attack was the third on Bureau of Wine’s warehouses since the start of the full-scale war. In 2022, the company lost about €15 million in goods, and in July 2026, another attack destroyed another €1.5 million in products.

The warehouse held about three thousand pallets, making it impossible to quickly move the volume of products to a safer location. The situation was also complicated by constant airstrikes: Russian attacks meant workers could only move supplies for three to four hours a day.

It was previously reported that Russian troops attacked the warehouses of two large retail chains in the Kyiv region on the night of August 31. The Varus and ATB facilities were hit.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Russian attacks have destroyed or severely damaged the logistics centers of leading Ukrainian supermarket chains.
