In the village of Lopushne, Khust district, Zakarpattia region, a man threw a grenade near a store. The ammunition exploded, but no one was injured.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by the police of the Transcarpathian region.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on September 9 at around 6:23 p.m. According to eyewitnesses, the man first showed the grenade to people and then threw it near a store.<\/p>\n

Police officers quickly identified the man and detained him. He turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of Lopushne. The police noted that he had left the military unit without permission. The man was drunk at the time of the incident. <\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers determined that the grenade was a training grenade.<\/p>\n

“The grenade was a training grenade, no one was injured as a result of the incident,” the Transcarpathian police reported.<\/p>\n

The detainee was taken to a temporary detention center. According to the SZCH, he is also being investigated for hooliganism under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

If convicted, the man could face three to seven years in prison.<\/p>\n
