In the Kyiv region, the stepfather of a 13-year-old girl was reported on suspicion of raping a child under the age of 14. Law enforcement officers are also checking the actions of the victim’s mother regarding the proper fulfillment of parental duties.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers received a report from a medical facility about the pregnancy of a 13-year-old resident of Skvira. During an examination and ultrasound, the girl was found to be 33 weeks pregnant.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the child’s stepfather was involved in sexual acts with her. According to the investigation, they took place over several months at their place of common residence.<\/p>\n

The man was informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – rape of a person under the age of 14.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor’s office emphasized that a person under the age of 14 cannot provide legally meaningful consent to sexual acts.<\/p>\n

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Bila Tserkva District Police Department of the Main Police Department in Kyiv region. The necessary investigative and procedural actions are being carried out, the results of which will determine the issue of additional qualification of the suspect’s actions under Part 6 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor’s office is also investigating the actions of the victim’s mother regarding her proper fulfillment of her parental duties. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
