However, banks will not be obligated to do this &#8211; they will make the decision on full or partial write-offs independently.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/verkhovnaradaukrainy\/89001\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was reported<\/a> in the Verkhovna Rada.<\/p>\n<p>The Council Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommended that the parliament adopt the relevant draft law as a basis.<\/p>\n<p>The document provides for the possibility of writing off up to <strong>100% of consumer loan debt<\/strong> for military personnel, civilians who are in captivity or missing, their family members, as well as people with disabilities as a result of the war.<\/p>\n<p>There will be no automatic write-off. Banks will decide independently whether to cancel the debt in full or in part.<\/p>\n<p>The bill also proposes to exempt borrowers from paying taxes on the amount of the debt written off.
