In the Russian region of Buryatia, high school students were urged to prepare to fight against Ukraine during a sports event. A man in military uniform told the children that the Russian military “cannot cope without them” and that they were “needed” by the Russian army.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incident reportedly occurred on September 13 in Ulan-Ude during the annual all-Russian “Cross of Nations” race. This year, a mobilization point was also operating at the event site.<\/p>\n

After the event, a man in military uniform appeared on stage in front of students in grades 5\u20138. According to Sayana Fedotova, the daughter of the head of the Buryat branch of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, he began praising the students and then urged them to join the war against Ukraine in the future.<\/p>\n

“We need you, we are at war, come, we can’t cope without you,” Fedotova recounted his words.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that such statements were made to minors.<\/p>\n

“They tell this to schoolchildren at the “Cross of the Nation”. They say that they have to go to war. Schoolchildren. Children,” the woman said.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the militarization of Russian children has intensified. Schools have resumed basic military training, and high school students are being taught drill, how to handle hand grenades, and how to act during combat operations.<\/p>\n

In addition, Russia is conducting a military-patriotic game called “Zarnitsa 2.0,” which involves children from the age of seven. Participants are taught how to control drones, storm positions, navigate during combat operations, and practice elements of propaganda work.<\/p>\n

In particular, the Russian State Duma proposed starting children’s preparation for a possible war with NATO and the EU in the fifth grade.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that, amid the cancellation or reduction of real military parades in dozens of Russian regions due to “security considerations,” the Kremlin shifted its focus to the youngest Russians.<\/a> Kindergartens across the country held mass children’s “Victory parades.”<\/p>\n
