More than half of them were lost in 2026 alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/andrii_sybiha\/status\/2099822819546652814\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was announced by<\/a> the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Russia is systematically attacking Ukraine&#8217;s railway infrastructure, trying to disrupt logistics throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>On the night of September 15, a Russian strike on railway infrastructure in Volyn near the Polish border hit another locomotive.<\/p>\n<p>Sybiga emphasized that the railway remains one of Ukraine&#8217;s key transport arteries. It is used to evacuate civilians from frontline areas, transport necessary cargo, grain, and other products.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister called on international partners to urgently help Ukraine replace its lost rolling stock. In particular, this concerns the search for locomotives compatible with the <strong>1520 mm<\/strong> track gauge, as well as financing the purchase of new ones.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sybiga, the stable operation of Ukrainian railways is necessary not only for the economy and logistics, but also to prevent a humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, on September 13, the Russians <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/okupanty-vdaryly-po-zaliznytsi-ta-azs-bilia-kordonu-z-polshcheiu-reaktsiia-mzs\/\">attacked a railway near the border with Poland<\/a> .
