The document received 225 votes out of the required 226. An alternative draft law No. 15348-1 also failed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is evidenced by <a href=\"https:\/\/itd.rada.gov.ua\/billinfo\/Bills\/Card\/70231\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">data<\/a> from the Verkhovna Rada and <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/XEcBBSgMBXQ\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the broadcast<\/a> of the parliamentary session.<\/p>\n<p> 225 MPs voted for the main bill No. 15348 &#8211; one vote was missing for adoption in the first reading. Alternative document No. 15348-1 received 199 votes.<\/p>\n<p> The parliament also failed to return both bills for revision \u2013 the respective proposals received 219 and 213 votes. Both documents have already been marked as <strong>rejected and withdrawn from consideration<\/strong> in the Verkhovna Rada&#8217;s vote cards.<\/p>\n<p> Bill No. 15348 provided for a new gradation of fines depending on how much the driver exceeded the speed limit. It was proposed to establish:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li> <strong>680 UAH<\/strong> \u2013 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km\/h;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> <strong>2040 UAH<\/strong> \u2013 more than 40 km\/h;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> <strong>2720 UAH<\/strong> \u2013 more than 60 km\/h;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> <strong>3400 UAH<\/strong> \u2013 for more than 80 km\/h.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p> For drivers who were held accountable five or more times during the year for exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 or 80 km\/h, a fine <strong>of 17 thousand hryvnias<\/strong> was proposed.<\/p>\n<p> Alternative bill No. 15348-1 provided, in particular, for tougher sanctions for systematic violators, a reduction in the speeding threshold at which liability arises, as well as amendments to the Criminal Code regarding road accidents with fatalities or serious injuries. The relevant committee had previously recommended rejecting this document.<\/p>\n<p> Since both bills were not supported, <strong>the current speeding fines remain unchanged. Currently, a fine of UAH 340 is provided for exceeding the speed<\/strong> limit by more than 20 km\/h, and UAH 1,700 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km\/h.<\/p>\n<p> Recall that earlier in Ukraine <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/v-ukraini-khochut-pidvyshchyty-shtrafy-za-perevyshchennia-shvydkosti-shcho-zminytsia\/\">it was proposed to increase fines for speeding<\/a> . The maximum fine for systematic violations was proposed to be set at 17 thousand hryvnias.<\/p>\n<p> In addition, in June, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/mvs-hotuie-novi-sanktsii-dlia-porushnykiv-pdr-ale-bez-balnoi-systemy\/\">reported on the preparation of a new system of sanctions<\/a> for traffic violations.<\/p>\n<p> Also follow <strong>\u201cPryamim\u201d<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pryamiy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/prm_ua\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>X<\/strong><\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/+rtV4dxYu2_cyNjVi\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Telegram<\/strong><\/a> , and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pryamiy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Instagram.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Verkhovna Rada did not support draft law No. 15348 on increasing fines for speeding and other changes in driver liability.
