Ukraine will receive $250 million from the World Bank to compensate for interest on loans to agricultural producers under the state program “5-7-9%. ” At the same time, there is no additional information about the EU grant of \u20ac220 million at this time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky at a briefing on Friday, September 18.<\/p>\n

According to him, Ukraine currently has confirmation from the World Bank regarding financing interest compensation on loans for agricultural producers within the framework of the “5-7-9%” program.<\/p>\n

“There is no additional information about the grant from the European Union of EUR220 million. We can assume that these funds cannot be provided at this time, but we already have confirmation from the World Bank about the provision of $250 million for interest compensation under the “5-7-9%” program for agricultural production,” said Vysotsky.<\/p>\n

On August 7, 2026, Ukraine requested the European Commission to provide 220 million euros in non-repayable assistance. The funds were to be used to compensate for interest on loans to small and medium-sized agricultural producers who suffered due to the blockade of sea exports as a result of Russian attacks on the ports of Greater Odessa.<\/p>\n

Vysotsky also reported that since the beginning of 2026, under the “5-7-9%” program, agricultural producers have attracted UAH 49 billion in loans out of a total of UAH 115 billion.<\/p>\n

The official added that after the blockade of the ports and the adoption of relevant government decisions, UAH 21 billion in loans were attracted. Of this amount, UAH 6.3 billion fell on the “5-7-9%” program.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukraine has used up its quota for duty-free wheat supplies to the European Union.<\/a> Further exports of this product will require payment of duties, which reduces the competitiveness of Ukrainian grain on the European market.<\/p>\n
