French intelligence services are considering the fall of 2027 as a possible period for large-scale Russian attacks. Against this backdrop, French President Emmanuel Macron has instructed to prepare measures to protect critical infrastructure from drones and cyberattacks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A confidential French intelligence memo mentions the possibility of Russian attacks in the fall of 2027. Previously, French services considered a scenario of possible escalation for 2030.<\/p>\n

Potential targets could include power plants and power grids, railways, telecommunications networks, and drinking water supply facilities.<\/p>\n

Alain Christienne, a former deputy director of French military intelligence, said one hypothetical scenario could be the use of a drone carrying explosives against a French defense industry facility. He said it could be difficult to establish Russian involvement in such an attack.<\/p>\n

On September 19, Macron held a confidential meeting with presidential candidates and political party leaders. He named the growing Russian hybrid threat to France and Europe as the topic of the talks.<\/p>\n

The French government will prepare a plan to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive objects of the defense-industrial and technological base from drone attacks and cyberattacks.<\/p>\n

The government also instructed prefects to create security and defense groups with the participation of local police, intelligence services, the military, education authorities, businesses, and emergency services.<\/p>\n
