Fuel prices in Ukraine may increase significantly in the coming months. The cost of petroleum products will be affected by geopolitical tensions, a decline in global reserves, and an increase in the tax burden.<\/strong><\/div>\n

This was reported<\/a> on the air of “Ranok.LIVE” by fuel market expert, founder of Prime Group company Dmitry Lyushkin.<\/p>\n

According to him, there are currently no prerequisites for a decrease or stabilization of world oil prices. Among the factors that could lead to a rise in fuel prices, the expert named the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East on the eve of the US elections.<\/p>\n

At the same time, unlike in previous periods, there are no significant reserves of oil and petroleum products in the US, Europe, or China. Therefore, any fluctuations in the world market quickly affect prices in Europe and Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Additional pressure on the cost of fuel, according to Lyushkin, will be created by the planned increase in excise taxes from January 1 and the law on minimum reserves of oil and petroleum products.<\/p>\n

According to the expert’s forecast, Ukrainians should prepare for a significant price increase over the next three to six months.<\/p>\n

Already in February 2027, diesel may cost 115\u2013120 UAH per liter<\/strong> , and gasoline may be about 10 UAH cheaper.<\/p>\n

Based on European prices, the cost of fuel in Ukraine could theoretically increase to 140\u2013145 UAH\/l<\/strong> . In Europe, the price of diesel has already reached 2.8\u20132.9 euros per liter. At the same time, Leushkin considers such a scenario unlikely and predicts a price closer to 120 UAH per liter.<\/p>\n

The upcoming winter could be a separate factor. The expert noted that the difficult energy situation and confrontation with Russia could also affect world prices.<\/p>\n

“These are not big numbers. This is such an optimized scenario,” concluded Leushkin.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the global diesel shortage caused by supply disruptions could persist until at least 2027.<\/a> Diesel inventories in the US and Europe are declining, and fuel prices remain high.<\/p>\n
