Three major Turkish airlines – Turkish Airlines, AJet and Pegasus – have suspended flights to Iran after new US sanctions against Iranian aviation came into effect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flights have been canceled since September 21. Turkish Airlines and AJet have removed tickets to Iran from sale until March 2027, and Pegasus has removed tickets for the entire booking period.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, the reason was new American sanctions. They complicate flights not only on Boeing aircraft, but also on Airbus, since they also use American-made parts.<\/p>\n

The US imposed new sanctions on Iran’s aviation sector on September 8. 36 industry-related facilities and 27 Iranian airlines were affected by the restrictions.<\/p>\n

In addition, Washington has revoked a number of permits that previously allowed foreign carriers to fly to Iran on American-made aircraft or those subject to US export controls.<\/p>\n

Back in August, the US expanded the scope of sanctions against Iran, including aviation, shipping, technology, digital assets, and gold.<\/p>\n

As you know, on the night of September 17, Kyiv time, the US House of Representatives passed a bill on “hellish” sanctions against Russia<\/a> . Now it must be signed by US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, India stated that it would continue to purchase energy from various suppliers, despite the adoption of a new law on sanctions and tariffs by the US House of Representatives<\/a> . New Delhi emphasized the need to ensure the country’s energy security.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Ukrainian President’s Commissioner for Sanctions Policy , Vladyslav Vlasyuk, named the countries that could be subject to tariffs after the US President signs the “Graham Act.”<\/a> These include possible duties of up to 100% on imports from countries that purchase significant amounts of Russian energy or help circumvent sanctions.<\/p>\n
