Saudi Arabia has restarted the East-West oil pipeline, which was out of service after a drone attack on September 13. After its resumption, world oil prices fell.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by Reuters, citing three sources.<\/p>\n

The pipeline is not yet operating at full capacity. Saudi Aramco plans to gradually increase its pumping capacity to 4 million barrels per day.<\/p>\n

The market reacted quickly to the resumption of supplies, with Brent crude falling more than $2 a barrel to its lowest price since September 8.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is already preparing to increase exports via this route. One tanker is scheduled to load oil at the port of Yanbu and head to China. Other traders are also preparing ships to transport Saudi oil via Egyptian ports.<\/p>\n

The East-West pipeline has become particularly important to Saudi Arabia because of supply problems through the Strait of Hormuz. It stretches about 1,200 km from oil fields near the Persian Gulf to the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea.<\/p>\n

Before the attack, 4-5 million barrels of oil were pumped through it daily – almost 4% of global supplies.<\/p>\n
