Poland has placed six border crossing points with Ukraine on high alert. Polish army personnel will also be on duty at their borders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press conference at the Dorohusk checkpoint.<\/p>\n

Enhanced security measures have been introduced at the Dorohusk, Zosin, Budomierzh, Korchova, Medyka, and Kroscenko checkpoints.<\/p>\n

According to Kierwi\u0144ski, after the decision was made, it took Polish services less than 24 hours to put the checkpoints on high alert and prepare the military. The army set up the posts in accordance with the recommendations of the Border Guard Service.<\/p>\n

The checkpoints will also limit the number of people and vehicles that can be on their territory at the same time. Warsaw explained that this will allow for faster evacuation in the event of a threat.<\/p>\n

In addition, Polish services have identified places where people can take shelter in case of danger. In places where such facilities are insufficient, the authorities plan to equip additional shelters.<\/p>\n

The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that border crossings with Ukraine have the status of critical infrastructure facilities. This gives the services more opportunities to respond to possible threats.<\/p>\n

Kierwinski noted that the Border Guard Service and the Polish Army are coordinating work on the border. He said that despite recent incidents with Russian drones near the Polish border, the area remains safe. <\/p>\n
