On the evening of September 23, Berlin Airport temporarily suspended operations after an unknown drone was spotted near the runway. Due to the incident, several flights were diverted to other German airports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An airport spokesman announced this, Bild<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The drone was spotted around 8:00 PM directly over the airport. Following this, the airspace above the airport was closed, and operations were suspended for approximately 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

During this time, several aircraft were diverted to Dresden and Leipzig. The German Federal Police confirmed that several people had seen the drone.<\/p>\n

The incident also affected a Eurowings flight from Cologne to Berlin. Bild journalist Tanja May, who was on board, reported that passengers were informed that their flight had been cancelled due to a drone allegedly present on the route.<\/p>\n

The crew subsequently changed the flight path, after which the plane was able to land. <\/p>\n
