The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has approved a plea agreement with the investigation in the case of seized petroleum products. According to the Anti-Corruption Center, it was concluded by former People’s Deputy Serhiy Pashinsky. He pleaded guilty and must pay a total of 1.1 billion hryvnias.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n

The SAPO itself does not name the person involved. The Anti-Corruption Center stated that it is Serhiy Pashynskyi.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The case concerns events in 2014. According to the investigation, the defendant used his position to seize seized petroleum products. The losses to the state were estimated at over 817 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n

Now the defendant has fully admitted his guilt and agreed to give incriminating testimony to the investigation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Under the agreement, he must pay a total of 1.1 billion hryvnias. Of this, 600 million hryvnias will go to the state budget.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He must transfer another 400 million hryvnias to the “Return Alive” fund. Instead of money, he can also use this amount to purchase weapons for the military according to a list agreed upon with the fund.<\/p>\n

Another 100 million hryvnias are to be transferred to the Sternenko Community Foundation for the purchase of weapons for the Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

Separately, the defendant must pay a fine of 850,000 hryvnias and another 17,000 hryvnias. He will also be banned from holding positions in state and local government bodies for a year.<\/p>\n

His property will not be confiscated. The SAPO explained that such a punishment under this article appeared in the legislation after the events that are the subject of the case.<\/p>\n

As is known, on February 12, 2024, NABU and SBU conducted a search at the residence of the Head of the Association, Serhiy Pashinsky<\/a> . He was declared a suspect in criminal proceedings registered ten years ago. The authors of the appeal note that Serhiy Pashinsky and his business partners are suspected of illegally embezzling and selling 97 thousand tons of petroleum products confiscated by the state, which were supposed to be used for the needs of the army.<\/p>\n
