In the Lviv region, the SBU detained an FSB agent who worked at the Defense Forces’ unmanned systems production facility. The man tried to give the Russian special services the coordinates of the facility so that the enemy could launch a missile strike on it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> to the SBU.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the man was recruited through a Telegram channel offering “easy” earnings. After that, he was tasked with gathering intelligence about a company in western Ukraine.<\/p>\n

In particular, the agent tried to provide the FSB with the geolocations of administrative, production, and warehouse facilities. The Russian special service was also interested in the times when the most people were at the restricted facility.<\/p>\n

The SBU noted that they had uncovered the agent’s plans in advance and detained him. During the search, a tablet was seized from him, which he had been secretly using to receive and transmit intelligence, as well as to communicate with his supervisor.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.<\/p>\n

He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

The operation was carried out by military counterintelligence officers of the SBU in cooperation with the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.<\/p>\n
