At his final meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump announced that he had made the final decision to grant Ukraine a license to produce missiles for the Patriot air defense system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelensky announced this during a conversation with journalists.<\/p>\n

According to the president, during the meeting, Trump confirmed the US’s readiness to transfer the relevant licenses to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“There are specific agreements. President Trump emphasized at our last meeting: ‘Yes, I have made the final decision, and Ukraine will receive licenses to produce Patriot missiles,'” Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

The presidents of the United States and Ukraine had previously discussed the possibility of transferring the Patriot interceptor missile production license to Ukraine. After their meeting on September 22, Zelenskyy stated that Trump was positive about this possibility, but no final decision had yet been made.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on September 24, a US State Department spokesperson stated that Washington was continuing to discuss the matter and that no decision had yet been made. Zelenskyy’s new statement indicates a change in the status of the agreements, but details regarding the license itself and the timing of its transfer have not yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n

Ukraine is interested in localizing Patriot missile production, in part due to the need to strengthen defenses against Russian ballistic missiles. Zelenskyy previously estimated that launching such production in Ukraine would take about a year to a year and a half after obtaining the necessary permits.<\/p>\n

According to Zelenskyy, this year Ukraine received three times fewer missiles from its partners to counter ballistic threats than last year. Among the reasons cited by his partners, he cited the fighting in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Poland was preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine totaling \u20ac50 million.<\/a> Part of the funds will be allocated to air defense systems.<\/p>\n

In addition,the Finnish government will transfer the 34th military aid package to Ukraine, worth approximately \u20ac290 million.<\/a> In terms of funding, this is the second-largest package from Helsinki. <\/p>\n
