The humanitarian situation in occupied Oleshki, Kherson region, has become critical. The last time food was officially delivered to the city was on May 26, and now there are cases when people are forced to eat dogs due to hunger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the head of the Oleshkiv city military administration, Tetyana Hasanenko, in a material published by “Ukrainska Pravda”.<\/p>\n

“A few days ago, I first heard that there are indeed cases when dogs are eaten in individual families. A week ago, I denied such information, but now a person from there confirmed it to me. There is really nothing to eat. The situation is not just getting worse every day, it is getting worse every hour,” Hasanenko said.<\/p>\n

According to her, virtually everyone in the city is starving. There are no families who have enough food supplies to share with others.<\/p>\n

Hasanenko noted that no attempt to deliver food to Oleshki has been successful since May 26. She also warned that in the winter, it will be even more difficult to get to Radensk or other settlements on your own. The fields around the city are mined, and after the ground freezes and snowfalls, moving through them will become almost impossible.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there are almost no opportunities for evacuation. According to the head of the MVA, last year, some carriers agreed to evacuate people from Oleshki for money, but now there are no such opportunities.<\/p>\n

“It was expensive, the price was different, but they took it out for money. These are carriers. There are no volunteers who take it out. And, as of now, there are none,” she said.<\/p>\n

In some places, people are trying to get out on their own through the minefields towards Radensk. It is more than 20 kilometers from Oleshki to it, so this path is not accessible to everyone.<\/p>\n

According to Hasanenko, 11 people have already been able to leave the city in this way. At the same time, about 2,000 people may still remain in occupied Oleshki.<\/p>\n

Before the full-scale invasion, about 24,000 people lived in the city itself, and about 40,000 in the entire Oleshkiv community. Five settlements in the community were completely destroyed, and another three were destroyed by about 80%.<\/p>\n

Hasanenko also reported that, together with the surrounding villages, about 6 thousand people remain in the community, including 182 children.<\/p>\n

“And there is no chance of salvation. People have two options: either die of starvation, or fall under drone or artillery fire and be shot, because they will be killed. There is no third option. And the chance of staying there without food and surviving is zero,” the head of the MVA emphasized.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind you that a humanitarian catastrophe is ongoing in the temporarily occupied Oleshki in the Kherson region. About two thousand people remain in the city itself, who have critical problems with access to food and medicine<\/a> , while the possibility of leaving is effectively blocked.<\/p>\n

As reported, after negotiations, the Russian side has not confirmed its readiness to conduct a humanitarian mission to evacuate civilians from temporarily occupied Olesho<\/a> k. for a long time. The situation has reached the point where some people are trying to get out of the city on their own through minefields.<\/p>\n

Later, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated that Russia was creating a humanitarian blockade on the temporarily occupied left-bank Kherson region<\/a> . The most difficult situation, he said, was in Oleshki, where about 2,000 people were left without electricity, gas, and regular supplies of food and medicine.<\/p>\n
