On September 28, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to change the preventive measure of former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra. She will remain in custody with the alternative of bail of UAH 20 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the hearing, the defense requested that Mudria’s preventive measure be changed from detention to bail and that she be released from the pre-trial detention center.<\/p>\n

The lawyers stated that almost UAH 13 million<\/strong> out of the specified UAH 20 million in collateral<\/strong> has already been deposited into the VAKS deposit account. At the same time, according to the defense, it was not possible to deposit the remaining amount due to the banks’ refusal to make payments.<\/p>\n

Lawyer Artem Krykun-Trush stated that Mudra’s friends, colleagues, and common-law husband tried to deposit the funds through more than ten banks.<\/p>\n

According to him, one of the banks stated that only family members can provide collateral. The defense emphasized that the Criminal Procedure Code does not provide for such a requirement.<\/p>\n

Separately, the lawyers drew attention to the conditions of Mudra’s detention in the Lukyanivka SIZO. According to them, there is no shelter there, and during air raids, prisoners are advised to move away from the windows.<\/p>\n

The defense also stated that Mudra has an eight-year-old son who is currently without a mother.<\/p>\n

Mudra herself joined the online meeting and stated that she was not asking to be released from liability, but only wanted to obtain the application of an alternative preventive measure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will surrender all my passports, wear an electronic bracelet, and not communicate with the persons designated by the court. I will not run away. I want to defend my name here, in a Ukrainian court,\u201d Mudra said.<\/p>\n

According to her, about 70% of the collateral determined by the court has already been deposited, but banks are making it difficult to deposit further funds.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor requested that the current preventive measure be left unchanged. He stated that a partial payment of bail does not reduce the risks established by the court, and release from custody is possible only after the full amount is paid.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Supreme Court of Ukraine denied the defense’s request. Thus, Mudra remains in custody.<\/p>\n

Previously, “Pryamiy” wrote that Petro Poroshenko’s lawyers appealed to the High Council of Justice, NABU, and the Prosecutor General’s Office<\/a> due to statements about possible pressure from Mudra and the Chairman of the Cassation Administrative Court, Ihor Dashutin, on the panel of judges in the case regarding sanctions against Poroshenko.<\/p>\n

Also at the meeting of the parliamentary TSC , NABU records were made public<\/a> , which, according to MP Nina Yuzhanina, may indicate Mudra’s possible influence on judges through Dashutin.<\/p>\n
