Two academics were killed in a Russian strike on the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine building in Kyiv. Former NSDC Secretary Volodymyr Horbulin was also injured, and several people are currently unaccounted for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Zagorodny. Information about Horbulin was published<\/a> by the BBC.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, the Russian strike hit a room on the floor above Gorbulin’s office. He was injured, and his assistant, according to preliminary information, was killed.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the State Emergency Service reported one dead and one injured person. Pavlo Petrov, a spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Kyiv, noted<\/a> that the number of victims may increase.<\/p>\n

After the impact, some people were near the windows of the damaged building and could not get out on their own. Rescuers reached them using ladder trucks and evacuated them.<\/p>\n

Rescue operations are ongoing at the scene. Information about the dead and injured is being clarified.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on September 28, a Russian drone hit the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the center of Kyiv<\/a> . A fire broke out after the strike, and people were rescued through windows. According to the district authorities, there were injuries and deaths as a result of the attack.<\/p>\n
