EU countries should also coordinate inspections of suspicious vessels more closely to limit Russia&#8217;s ability to finance the war through a shadow fleet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.ua\/rubric-ato\/4168812-es-prodovzit-navcalnu-misiu-eumam-dla-ukrainskih-vijskovih-se-na-dva-roki.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ukrinform<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Regarding military training, member states agreed on the first step of the EUMAM strategic review &#8211; the extension of our mission for Ukraine for another 2 years,&#8221; said EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas.<\/p>\n<p> She also thanked the Netherlands for its contribution to the modernization of two training centers in Ukraine. According to Kallas, thanks to the support of the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Denmark and Luxembourg, the EU will be able to work on the modernization of both centers.<\/p>\n<p> Separately, Kallas emphasized the need to strengthen countermeasures against the Russian shadow fleet.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The EU Operation Irini has carried out 6 inspections of suspicious vessels in recent months and is now playing a leading role in such operations,&#8221; said Kallas.<\/p>\n<p> According to her, member states should continue their own inspections of vessels and closely coordinate these actions.<\/p>\n<p> Kallas also reported that many participants in the meeting called for Ukraine to be provided with an earlier portion of the EU&#8217;s \u20ac90 billion loan program for 2027. In addition, Ukraine could receive up to \u20ac20 billion from the remaining funds of the SAFE defense initiative.<\/p>\n<p> Speaking about Ukraine&#8217;s air defense needs, Kallas recalled that the EU has already approved procurement plans for 28.3 billion euros under the loan in support of Ukraine.
