Norway will allocate an additional 25 million kroner (2.3 million euros) for humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression. The funds will be used to support children abducted by Russia, civilian prisoners and prisoners of war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> “European Truth” with reference to the Norwegian government.<\/p>\n

UNICEF will receive 15 million crowns from the new aid package. The money will be used to search for missing Ukrainian children, as well as to re-integrate those who have been returned to Ukraine after deportation. This contribution is part of a wider funding of 132 million crowns for UNICEF’s humanitarian program in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Another 10 million crowns will be transferred to the Central Tracing Agency of the International Committee of the Red Cross. It helps to establish the whereabouts of missing people and supports their families who have lost contact with loved ones due to captivity, death or forced displacement.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian government noted that the allocated funds should contribute to the search for missing persons, the return of people to Ukraine, as well as their further rehabilitation and reintegration.<\/p>\n

In addition, Norway is co-organizing a conference in Toronto, which will take place on September 28\u201329. Its goal is to draw international attention to the problem of Ukrainians who have disappeared or been deprived of their liberty as a result of the war.<\/p>\n

“Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine has led to serious violations of international humanitarian law and human rights. We must continue to draw attention to this and try to provide assistance to Ukrainians who have suffered from the war,” said Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It was previously reported that the European Union has imposed sanctions against 10 more individuals and 17 organizations it considers involved in the deportation, forced displacement, and Russification of Ukrainian children.<\/a><\/p>\n
