The compromised information included Social Security numbers and job titles for military and civilian personnel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/Politics\/pentagon-breach-exposed-sensitive-data-3-million-people\/story?id=136832909\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was reported<\/a> by ABC News, citing a representative of the US Department of Defense.<\/p>\n<p> According to him, the leak affected <strong>2.76 million living people and another 294,000 dead<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p> Unauthorized access occurred in the information system of the Defense Manpower Data Center of the US Department of Defense.<\/p>\n<p> The Pentagon said that third-party users had access to personal data between <strong>October 2025 and July 2026<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p> After the incident was discovered, the system vulnerability was fixed.<\/p>\n<p> The Defense Manpower Data Center is one of the Pentagon&#8217;s primary repositories of personnel information. It stores data on active duty and reservists, civilian employees, contractors, retirees, veterans, and military family members.<\/p>\n<p> In total, the center stores more than <strong>60 million personal files<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p> Due to the nature of the stolen data, the incident could raise concerns from a national security perspective, as the files contained detailed information about the positions of military and civilian employees.<\/p>\n<p> At the same time, the US Department of Defense has not yet found evidence that the stolen information has already been used for criminal purposes.
