In Kryvyi Rih, some expenditures will be cut and some development projects postponed due to a drop in city budget revenues. Large industrial enterprises in the city have stopped operating or are operating at only part of their capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.<\/p>\n

According to him, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ingulets and Pivdennyi mining and processing plants, as well as the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant, are currently not operating.<\/p>\n

Other large enterprises are operating at no more than a quarter of their pre-war level. Due to the problems of industrial giants, some contracting companies have also been left without work.<\/p>\n

Vilkul explained the situation as a result of Russian attacks and difficulties in exporting products through seaports. As a result, businesses are paying fewer taxes, and the city budget is losing a significant portion of its revenue.<\/p>\n

Because of this, in 2026, Kryvyi Rih will abandon the implementation of some of the planned projects. At the same time, the city will continue to finance critically important areas.<\/p>\n

“This is not about development. This is about survival. We need to survive now,” Vilkul said.<\/p>\n

The situation in 2027 may also remain difficult. Vilkul called the forecast for the city budget “very bad.”<\/p>\n

According to him, the city will primarily finance the operation of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, as well as provide water and heat supply.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukraine’s largest steel company, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, is halting operations after four missile strikes in the past five weeks<\/a> . The company said it cannot safely resume production at this time.<\/p>\n
